Firefighter Fundraising

Ignite the Spirit
Ignite the Spirit is made up of firefighters from Chicago. Firefighter fundraisers held by Chicago help firefighters, family and children. Our Ignite the Spirit Charity Bike Ride is a way for firefighters and our fire department to raise money for pediatric cancer.
The Fire Department Charity Bike Team returns home from their 960 mile, 12 day ride around Lake Michigan tomorrow, Saturday, May 29th around 2pm. They will return to the Quinn Fire Academy, in Chicago.
Ignite the Spirit is a fire department charity. A 501 (c) (3) not for profit which is made up of Chicago firefighters and paramedics. The Ignite the Spirit team are volunteers without any paid employees. All money raised goes by Ignite the Spirit is for charity.
The fund has been raising money for fire department charities, as well as fire department families that have been effected by tragedy. The fund has grown and is now contributing to community organizations and children’s cancer charities.
The loss of Henry Schueler to leukemia compelled the Schueler family to launch the 41 & 9 Foundation. This not for profit is raising money for pediatric research and treatment in memory of Hank. Ignite the Spirit has organized a fundraiser for the 41 & 9 Foundation, a ride around Lake Michigan.
Recently the Ignite the Spirit fund donated funds to help the Chicago Fire Department football team, the Blaze, purchase football equipment for their inaugural season in the NPSFL. Chicago is excited to have a fire department football team. By helping the team suit up against the Chicago Police Department “CPD Enforcers,” the fire department football team can help charities like the Burn Camp.
Ignite the Spirit is lead by Firefighter Rich Pinskey, assigned to CFD Tower Ladder 21. Please sign up for our newsletter. The entire Ignite the Spirit board bio’s are being posted.

Live Strong
Thank you to everyone that has helped Ignite the Spirit and Firefighter Charity. CFD firemen and EMS, help charities. Charity has also been affected by the weak economy. In spite of economic challenges, firefighter charities continue to work hard to help fire departments and communities that need support.
Warmest regards, from Ignite the Spirit.
