About the NPSFL
The National Public Safety Football League is also known as the NPSFL
A football league made up of first responders. 25 teams, and each team is made up of public safety professionals. Firefighters, Policemen, Military, Corrections Officers and Paramedics and EMT’s. Football players, that save lives. You can visit the NPSFL website here.
Our football players play for charity. Each team selects a charity, and we raise money through football, to help out these charities. Our league is made up of people that are playing, to improve our communities. The teams of the NPSFL are competitive, and the games are fun, but the players do not play for pay. We play for charity.
The NPSFL is the child of the NLEFL, National Law Enforcement Football League. The NLEFL was formed in St. Louis, MO in 1996 as a football league which would allow law enforcement agencies to compete on the gridiron, while raising money and awareness for charities.
In 1998, the NLEFL expanded, and allowed firefighters, paramedics, and emt’s to form teams, and compete in an organized football league, representing their departments and charities. The league was renamed NPSFL, National Public Safety Football League, to reflect the addition of the new departments.
Over the past 13 years, the league has expanded to 25 teams. Each team is a non profit organization, and the league is incorporated in New York State as a not for profit, 501 (c) 3. The players, coaches, staff, and officials are not paid employees. Each member of the league plays because they love football, and this is a way to help raise money for their charities, and the communities they serve.
Our teams are from all over the country. To learn more about each one, and visit their websites and departments, click on this link. If you would like to contribute in any way, we would love to hear from you.
